Halloween is in a tie with Christmas for the title of "Nerd Girl's official favorite holiday". This year I plan on doing it up big. It will either be epic or disastrous. I will either end up with the world's best costume or I shall roam around the city of San Francisco claiming to be a chocolate version of Lady Godiva.
Last year I was a sexy baseball player. :P Laugh if you must but the pictures from last year's party did their job of making my overseas love interest insanely jealous and providing me with a boring, if not present, local temporary boyfriend. Still, it wasn't that creative and creativity is what we Nerd Girls live for.
This year I'm taking it up a notch with some good ol' fashioned Cosplay.
The Fifth Element is not only my favorite movie but it is also the best movie ever made. If you disagree you can suck it. I am Nerd Girl and I only speak the truth. I've wanted to pay homage to the masterpiece that is The Fifth Element for a while and now I can with the perfect Halloween costume: The futuristic blue stewardess.
How effing awesome is that? Jean Paul Gaultier is my hero. It came to me in a dream a few weeks ago that this is what I MUST be for Halloween. I don't have a choice. It's this or NOTHING. Serious stuff. My dilemma? I've scored the universe of the internets to find a version of this costume that I can buy. I've settled on the fact that my best bet is to make the costume myself which would be fine if you exclude the fact that I can't sew for sh*t.
In true Nerd Girl fashion I'm not giving up. I'm taking my tragically ambitious ass to the fabric store for some bright blue stretch fabric. I'm even going to by a sewing machine for this f*cker.
We'll see how this goes. I predict that I'll be naked at this year's party.
